Thanks for stopping by! This blog is designed to be a launch pad for the work of our 5th grade reading students. They are reading and posting summaries every day. Please take some time to check out a few of the blogs listed on the right!

We especially thank those of you who comment on the work of our students. The students are extremely excited to share their best thinking, and they can't wait to get comments from outside of the classroom.

We talk often with our students about what we expect in a comment. If you're visiting from outside of our classroom, you might be interested in knowing more about our comment expectations...

1. Please let us know where you are from, and include a URL address if you have a blog, wiki, or other website for us to visit.

2. Thank you in advance for keeping your comments focused on positive compliments and thoughtful questions.

3. Please ask us guiding questions to help us improve our summaries. We are really trying to include important information - not just fun details. We are very focused on great writing in general, and we'd love any suggestions you can provide.

4. Please ask us questions that push our thinking. We're trying to use these prompts as we write about our reading - maybe they'll be helpful for you as well.
